Lochlaha My family name today is spelled Locklear, My father often pronounced it Lock-a-lear the a being pronounced as a short a. It was always hard for the white people to spell, So we had to spell it for them.
There is much written about my family and everyone being an authority on the subject of what tribe we are from and who we are. Anyway this is my thoughts on the the subject. From the time I was a little boy my father always claimed to be Cherokee Indian. So I started a long study in my family's history and found many interesting facts. I would like to share what I found and my people can decide for themselves what they may. My Father Weldon B.Locklear born the 15th of May 1930 in Scotland, North Carolina.
